Bertha Bole

Bertha R. Bole, 87, of Cortez, Colorado passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023. Joining her parents in their eternal home. Bertha enjoyed time with her daughter Rita Duran and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren beyond measure. Bertha had the upmost love for all of her family and friends, she treasured her faith in Jesus Christ. Bertha lived a full life raising her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She in proceeded in death by her parents Elifar and Rita Martinez, Richard Leo Velasquez whom she shared 6 children, Husband Wayne Roy Bole, grandsons Samuel Martinez, Donnie Velasquez, and granddaughter Marie Mccoy. As well as many family members.

Bertha is survived by her children and their spouses Toby Velasquez (Diana), Filbert “Veto” Velasquez, Rita Duran (Sammy), Robert “Bobo” Velasquez (Rosemary), Patricia “Tish" Sanchez, Martin Velasquez (Jennifer), Stephanie Runyon (Nathan), and Brian Martinez. Bertha has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews that she cherished. 

Pallbearers are Richard Martinez, Veto Velasquez, Johnnyray Duran, Mark Velasquez, Brian Martinez, and Martin Velazquez. Honorary pallbearers Toby Velasquez, Sammy Duran, Patricia “Tish” Sanchez, Robert “Bobo” Velasquez, Gregory Artiaga, and Anthony Ray Mccoy. A special thank you to Toby, Diane, and Vanessa Velasquez for their extra support during Bertha’s end of life care.

Funeral Services will be on September 22, 2023 with a Rosary 11:30am, Mass 12:00pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Farmington NM. Graveside services to follow at Memory Gardens at 2pm. Luncheon at 3pm at St. Mary’s Parrish Center.
