Clara Darlene Clark

March 15, 1942 — May 21, 2022

Clara Darlene Clark, 80, of Farmington, New Mexico passed away May 21, 2022 at home with her children at her side.  Clara was born March 15, 1942 to parents Hollis and Ruth Tate in Cortez, Colorado.

She was the youngest of eight children and family was the most important thing in her life.  She met her forever husband Stan in Butte, Montana when in junior high school and they married in 1958 when she was sixteen years old.  From 1959 to 1964 they moved around for Stan’s work as a butcher. Their children Doreen, Jay and Doug were born in Montana, Nevada, and Colorado respectively during this time and they ended up in California around 1965 where they lived until 1975.  During these years there were many memorable vacations to see their families in Salt Lake and Farmington, camping trips, Sundays spent at the beach on or drives.   In 1975 they moved to Farmington, New Mexico to be near family where they remained for the rest of their days.

Her number one priority was taking care of her family, Clara was a wonderful homemaker who loved to cook, sew, crochet, read, drawing and crafting of all kinds.  While she was generally very shy,  this was not the case with her loved ones.  She was in her glory and happiest when with family.  She was loved by so many and will be remembered by all.  As she joins her beloved husband, son, parents, brothers, sisters we can all be assured she is finally at peace.

Clara is preceded in death by her husband and only love of 64 years Stanley Clark;  youngest son Douglas Clark; parents Hollis and Ruth Tate; brothers James Tate (Velna), Joseph Tate, Robert Tate, Eddie Tate and Ernie Tate; sisters Gladys Holloron, Gordie Stroble (Max) and great granddaughter Lybertee Clark, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews and in-laws.

She is survived by son Darold Clark (Bernadine); daughter Doreen Giroux: granddaughters Kristine Keck, Kimberly Keck, Kathleen Keck, Autumn Harmon (Butch), Courtney Lopez and Diamond Clark;  great granddaughters Alexia Neel, Alyssabeth Kerschion, Brielle McCullar and Elene Arellano (Terrence); great grandsons Alex Neel, Griffin McCullar, Brendan Harmon, Tysen Harmon, Cruz Lopez and Genaro Lopez; great-great granddaughter Ella Arellano; daughter in law Loretta Valdez; brothers in law Donald Clark and Jack Clark; sisters in law Alice Tate and Bonnie Clark, many nieces and nephews, and lifelong friend Carol Olson.
