Esther Martinez Trammell

Esther Martinez Trammell, 93, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2023, surrounded by family after a lengthy illness.  

Esther Martinez Trammell was born on January 21, 1930, in Guadalupita, New Mexico to parents Alfonso and Fedelina Martinez.  She married the love of her life, Alfred F. Trammell and they moved to Grants in 1961, where her husband was a principal and a teacher at various schools.  She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred, daughter Aileen, son-in-law Arthur Grimes, sister Refugio and her husband Pablin, brother Nestor and his wife Marcella, and her parents.  She is survived by daughter Dorothy Mendiola and husband Ben, daughter Brenda Livingston and husband Chuck, daughter Eileen Grimes, daughter Reba Michael and husband Stanley, 10 grandchildren; Marcos Mendiola, Mario Mendiola, Jeremy Lynn, Matthew Livingston, Samantha Bush, Jillian Piatz, Dannika Trujillo, and Tristan Trujillo, Finley Livingston, Asher Livingston, and 8 great grandchildren; Mario R. Mendiola, Isaiah Mendiola, Abram Mendiola, Elias Mendiola, Madison Bush, Edgar Bush Jr., Zachary Lynn, and Jasper Piatz, and numerous nieces and nephews.  

Esther was committed to her faith and her community, where she regularly attended St. Teresa Catholic Church and worked for several retail establishments in Grants.  She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

On November 15, 2023, a Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM, followed by Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Teresa Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Grants Memorial Park.

Pallbearers include Marcos Mendiola, Mario Mendiola, Jeremy Lynn, Matthew Livingston, Tristan Trujillo, and Mario R. Mendiola.
