A good soldier of God has fought a good fight, he has now laid down his weapons and gone to rest in the presence of His Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord welcomed this good and faithful servant into His presence on December 17, 2021.
Born on May 7, 1931 to Felipe Velasquez and Lucia Martinez, Feligionio Velasquez has left behind an impactful legacy in his 90 years on Earth. Feligonio served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954.
He loved to spend time hiking in the hills and hunting for deer and elk. He took great pride in teaching his children and grandchildren how to hunt and how to respect and safely shoot pistols and rifles.
He was a member and attended faithfully The Master’s Hand Church of God in Bloomfield, NM. He would proudly announce to anyone who would listen that his son The Reverend David Velasquez was his Pastor.
He was very proud of his children and grandchildren’s decisions to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and live their lives in accordance to God’s Word. He was humbled to know that his influence and his example of living for God had affected them in such a positive way.
