Glen Richard Manley

July 18, 1944 — March 25, 2024

Houston

Glen Richard Manley passed away at age 79 on March 25, 2024, in Billings, MT. He was born to Melvin Arthur and Josephine Louise Manley on July 18, 1944, in Houston, Texas. He attended Oral Roberts University.

Glen’s greatest love was for his country, and he served in the US Army as Specialist 4th Class in “The Big Red One Division” in the Vietnam war. There he earned the nation’s second highest award, The Distinguished Service Cross. He served as team leader going ahead of his unit detecting booby traps and disarming them before his men reached their position. He fought selflessly, staying behind in enemy territory until all men were safely aboard the helicopters. Only then would he leave. He saved many lives there destroying an enemy bunker single-handedly that had been firing upon the men, sadly killing several before his attack upon the enemy. Thank you, Glen Richard Manley, for your sacrifice and for your service.

Glen served as a police officer in the City of Aztec New Mexico. He then worked in the oilfield industry including working for Halliburton in Prudhoe Bay Alaska.

He loved camping, fishing, treasure hunting and golfing. He loved his family dearly. He was a real genuine person and loved the Lord greatly.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Josephine Manley, brothers John and Robert Manley, son-in-law Kevin Jones, and sister-in-law Cecilia Manley.

He is survived by his daughter, Camie Jones of Billings, brother Russell (Sharon) Manley, two grandchildren Kaley (Hayden) Ingle and Carson Jones and two great-grandchildren Nevaeh and Rylen Ingle, and numerous nieces and nephews; His beloved ex-wife Rhonda Lowery, Camie’s half-sister Kimberly Beal and best friend Grady Rigdon. He was to have met his new great-granddaughter due in June of this year.
