Irene Mike Benally, 96, of Peaceful  Valley, NM passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 in Farmington, NM. She was born on August 25, 1925 in Fruitland, NM to Lady Blueyes and Mike Policeman. Irene is born to Mud Clan and born for Tachene.
Irene is preceded in death by husband, Denet Suen Benally Begay; daughter, Marie Benally; parents, Lady Blueyes and Mike Policeman; brothers, John Mike, Charley Mike, Joe Mike, Thomas Mike; sister, Irene Frank; grandchildren, Fredrico Eaton, Ellison Hogue, Zachary Hogue; great-grandchildren Triston Easton and Harlam Happy.
Irene is survived by son, Ernest C. Benally; daughters, Bo Eaton, Louise Mitchell, Davinia Joe, Alice Hogue; brother, Jerry Mike; grandchildren, Fred Eaton, Jr., Lonnie Mitchell, Lathan Mitchell, Delbert Joe, Davison Joe, Davina Joe, Davisa Joe, Peterson Hogue, Penelope Hogue, Shawndeen Benally, Corey Benally, Shawna Beaty, Shawnee Benally; great-grandchildren, Nicole Eaton, Josh Eaton, Amber Eaton, Dynamite Mitchell, Rain Mitchell, Lacey Mitchell, Perfinna Largo, Hyram Happy, Hailey Happy, Silas Harvey; great great-grandchildren, Joy Warner, Honesty Warner and Harmony Happy.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Cope Memorial Kirtland. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Sunset Baptist Church in Kirtland, officiated by Pastor Daniel Smiley. Burial will follow at Mike’s Family Cemetery in Lower Fruitland; Pallbearers are Fred Eaton, Jr., Lonnie Mitchell, Lathan Mithchell, Davison Joe, Hyram Happy and Gilfred Hogue.
