Isaias (Ike) Serrano 1942-2020

Ike was born in Gallina, NM and graduated from Cuba Highschool in 1960. He worked as a flagman for a year before joining the Navy in 1962. In his Navy career, he traveled extensively and served in the Vietnam War where he received a Silver Star. He finished out his career as a bilingual recruiter in Farmington, NM. He joined VFW Post 614 and served two terms as post commander and was always very actively involved events such as the Horse to Iron Horse Rally. He was also active in the American Legion. His passions included riding his motorcycle with friends; traveling extensively in Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico.

Ike was preceded in death by his parents, Eduardo and Dulcinea Serrano; his sister, Josie Salazar; and brother, Jake Serrano. He is survived by his wife, Levina Serrano; son, Alex Serrano; daughters, Lisa and Natalie Serrano; brother, Eduardo (Kaleo) Serrano; sisters, Mary Serrano, Delila (Oscar) Serrano, Carmen (Fillipe) Roibal, Bea Yaeger, and Peggy (Joe) Babcock; grandchildren, Jenseena Baynes, Megan Courtney, Kailyn Anderson, Jaydee Serrano, Cassandra Serrano; many nieces and nephews; friends and neighbors.

There is not a memorial scheduled at this time due to pandemic restrictions. This site will be updated with service details as they become available.
