After graduating from Springer High School in New Mexico he enlisted into the Navy and served from October 20, 1947-October 23, 1951, as a mechanic during the Korean War. Jack worked as a field hand all the way to being the supervisor for El Paso Natural Gas Co. while there. Jack was always happy to lend a hand repairing something, sit at someone’s sick bed, or in general do whatever a person needed help doing, all with a smile and definitely a few jokes or teasing along the way.
