Jeanette Nakai Chief, 59, of Carson, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in Farmington, NM. Jeanette was born on September 12, 1958 in Otis, New Mexico to Jimmy and Laura Yazzie.
Jeanette was very strong-willed and fearless. She and her brother James Yazzie Sr. were on their own at a very young age. No matter what she was going thru physically or emotionally, she was always more concerned if others were okay. She never let her illness slow her down. She always said that when she gets to heaven, she wasn't going to be sick anymore. She said we are all just passing through this world. Jeanette loved the Lord and she never wanted anyone to worry about her. She had a warrior spirit and she fought, and held on, for a very long time.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents Jimmy and Laura Yazzie; and brother James N. Yazzie Sr.
Jeanette is survived by her loving husband Raymond Chief; sons; Christopher Yazzie, Nicholas Chief and Gabriel Chief, daughters; Raynette Yazzie and Stephanie Rodriguez. Six grandchildren, and Numerous family members.
Pallbearers are Chris Yazzie, Nicholas Chief, Raynette Yazzie, Stephanie Rodriguez (Gill Gill), Gabriel Chief, James N. Yazzie Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the Living Waters Church in Carson, NM. Steven Funston will be officiating.
Food donations may be made to the Chief residence in Carson, NM. Monetary will be collected by Pearla Burdine 505-444-1088.
