Kassie Marie Buttrey

December 7, 1985 — December 12, 2021

Kassie Marie Buttrey 12/7/1985-12/12/21. Kassie was born, and passed in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Kassie grew up with a love of animals. She participated in 4-H, which included raising and caring for rabbits and horses. She had an amazing touch with animals and was able to calm them with a touch.  She also grew to love crafts and shared her artistic abilities with others.
Kassie attended Piedra Vista High School where she participated in multiple choirs. She had a strong love of music and enjoyed sharing it with others. 2004 was a big year for Kassie: she graduated high school, started college, and married her loving husband. Jared Buttrey. One of Kassie's favorite things was family time with Jared, Aurora and Parker. Any activity including time together as family, she was all in. Her love for her family was contagious. Her last words were, "Tell my babies that I love them." Kassie worked many jobs because she was independent and was good at so many things: waitressing, tax auditor, retail sales, gym manager, transport, and office manager. As a mother she took on the responsibility of homeschooling her two children Aurora and Parker.  As with all that she did she went over and beyond to make sure they were getting a great education.  If you ever asked her what she did, she would smile and say "All the Things." Additionally, Kassie participated in the community choir, Caliente. If you know Kassie, you know what we say when we say "participated." She completely dove in and took on as much responsibility as she could.
Kassie is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and she loved to serve the Lord in any way that she could. Kassie always gave 100% in her callings and missionary efforts. Like Kassie's job experience, she had many hobbies. What did Kassie like? "All the Things." She had such a love for cooking and baking, along with anything music. Kassie was also a fierce friend and went to bat for those she loved. She made so many friends throughout her life and each of them felt loved and cared for as individuals. Kassie often dropped what she was doing to support others and helped them feel important and special.

Kassie is survived by her husband Jared A Buttrey, and her children Parker, and Aurora Buttrey, by her parents Wesley, and Julie Brown, her brothers Joshua Brown, and James Trow, and sister Tori Simpson, and by her grandparents Emily Holland and David GIll.
