Lee Mundell Truitt Jr.

April 14, 1940 — June 6, 2018

Lee M. Truitt, Jr. longtime resident of Aztec slipped quickly from this life after having his morning coffee on June 7, 2018 after battling Parkinson's Disease for almost 30 years. He was 78 years old.

Lee was born on April 14, 1940 in Philadelphia to Lillian E. and Lee M. Truitt, Sr. After early years in Wilmington, Delaware the family moved to Albuquerque in 1944. He graduated Highland High School in 1957, and attended the University of New Mexico where he met Patricia K. Young. They married in 1960 and lived in Albuquerque where they had two daughters, Victoria Lea and Patricia Lea (Trish). After working for the Forest Service and owning a fill station, he joined the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union where he rose to the level of Journeyman Wireman. He traveled the country working on projects as diverse as large housing developments. The San Juan Generating Station, Multiple Hotel/Casinos in Las Vegas, and the Nevada Test site (a.k.a Area 51). He was a member of and representative for the IBEW for over 50 years.

Since his retirement he served as a Board member for the Southside Water Users Association and pursued his love of gardening at his home on the south side of Aztec.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lee M.Truitt Sr. and Lillian Elizabeth Truitt. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Patricia K. Truitt of Aztec, his daughter Victoria Vannest (Karl) of Carlsbad, his daughter Patricia Fochler (Ron) of Aztec, his brother John Truitt (Holly) of Albuquerque, Grand-daughters Michelle Baber (Farmington), Amanda Standridge (San Diego), Cheyenne Fochler (Aztec), and Orin Fochler (Aztec). He had 4 great grand-daughters.

Throughout his life Lee was a compassionate, hard-working, generous,courteous and loving man. He remained so until his very last breath. No service is planned. Please direct any contribution to Crane's Roost in Aztec, or the National Parkinson's Foundation.
