Mamie Arcele (Carpenter) Andersen

Farmington

Mamie Arcele Carpenter Andersen was born on November 8th, 1927 in Superior, Nebraska to Jesse James Carpenter and Mamie Hoffman Carpenter. She passed away on September 29th, 2022. She was raised on a dairy farm. After graduating from Superior High School, she taught country school for three years. On August 15th, 1948 she married a local farmer, Elmer Walter Andersen of Ruskin, Nebraska. They had two daughters, Penny Lee and Jean Marie. In august of 1956 they moved to Farmington, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, in 2014. She has lived at the Beehive in Farmington since 2015. She is survived by her Daughter, Penny Andersen, a retired attorney in El Paso, Texas, her Daughter Jean Dunn of Farmington, who has devoted the past 13 years spending time with her at the Beehive and Bridge, and her son-in-law, Dr. Phillip Dunn of Farmington; 4 Grandchildren: Christine (Ryan) Hightower of Portales, New Mexico, Kim (Glen) Donald, Tracy (Steven) Moskal, and Jeff (Erica) Dunn all of Farmington; 13 Great Grandchildren: Kellan, Kaden, Jase, Rowan and Ryker Hightower, Makayla, Mariah and Macey Donald, Treven and Tinley, Moskal, and Lincoln, Maddox and Luke Dunn; one Great Great Grandson, Onyx, and one Great Great Granddaughter due in December. She is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Russell of Chula Vista, California, one Brother, Merle (Debbie) Carpenter of Springfield, Missouri, and numerous Nieces and Nephews. The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Beehive and Basin Home Health and Hospice. Viewing will be at Cope Memorial Chapel Farmington on October 6th, 2022 at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
