Marcella Ann Tsosie departed for the Kingdom of Heaven on November 24, 2021. She's preceeded in death by her husband Michael Denet Tsosie, her unborn children Alexander and Marcellus Tsosie, and her parents. She is survived by her children: Michael Hearne and Christian, Lauren and Gabriel Tsosie; granddaughter Marci'Anna Jean Hansen and her seven siblings; Elizabeth Hearne, Charlotte Hearne, Charles Hearne, Jean Scott wife of Jerry Scott, Richard Hearne, Ralph Hearne and Sylvia Berrellez wife of Cristobal Berrellez.
Marcella was born in Farmington, New Mexico on September 14, 1966. Raised on the Navajo Reservation in Teec Nos Pos, Arizona, her father was Richard Owen Hearne who was employed by the Bureau of Indian affairs, and her mother Jean Elizabeth Hearne who worked as the Science and Mathematics teacher of Red Mesa High School as the sole provider of Marcella and her seven siblings after the death of her father in 1975. Marcella married Michael Denet Tsosie on June 4, 1988 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Shiprock, New Mexico. A devout mother and a woman of faith, Marcella raised her four children in Aztec, New Mexico and graduated from San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico with a nursing degree and worked in both ER and ICU at San Juan Regional Hospital and Red Mesa Clinic. The compassion and empathy she displayed for those in her care extended beyond her profession. She gave in her poverty, was kind to all, and truly valued the voices of everyone she crossed paths with. Spreading the Gospel of the Lord, Marcella walked in beauty, she will be dearly missed by all those who love her.
Rosary will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church in Shiprock, New Mexico at 4:00 P.M. January 12th. Funeral Mass will be celebrated January 13th at 3:00 P.M. by Father Pat Wedeking, also at Christ the King Catholic Church. Internment will follow on a later date yet to be determined at Citizens' Cemetery in Flagstaff, Arizona.
