Peter Walter Frabotta

Peter W. Frabotta died Nov. 4, 2024.


Frabotta was born Jan. 16, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, to Frank and Josephine Frabotta. He was the eldest of three sons.


Frabotta proudly served in the US Army in WWII and contributed to the charter of the United Nations in 1945 at the United Nations Conference of International Organization in San Francisco, California.


Upon returning home to Michigan, Frabotta married Captola Marie Decker on March 9, 1948. The couple had four children: Nancy, Rita, Peter and Janie.


Frabotta started his career as a truck driver at a lunch company. He put himself through night school and landed a job at General Motors, where he was design engineer, assisting on the design of several automobiles including the Cadillac. He also held several automobile patents. When he retired, he was a vice president with the company.


After his retirement, he went to work as a vendor for Starboard Industries.


Frabotta was preceded in death by his mother; Josephine; father, Frank; his two brothers: William and Michael; his wife, Captola; his daughter, Janie; and his son, Peter.


Frabotta is survived by Nancy Faiola; Rita (Frabotta) Blazaitis and son-in-law John Blazaitis; as well as his four grandchildren: Debra (Blazaitis) Mayeux and husband David; Anthony Frabotta and wife Kathleen; Gina (Blazaitis) Muller and husband Roland; and Michael Frabotta. He also has four great-grandchildren: Nicholas Mayeux, Alexander Mayeux, Peter Mayeux and Connor Frabotta.


A Rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 22, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 414 North Allen Avenue. Inurnment with a U.S. Military salute will follow at the church columbarium.
