Ruby Faye Wooley
September 15, 1929 – January 28, 2023
Ruby Wooley, 93, of Farmington, New Mexico went home to Heaven on Saturday, January 28, 2023 in Portales, New Mexico. She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Veretto of Farmington; grandsons Don of California, and Chuck of Texas, granddaughter Adonna of Colorado, sister Peggy Gilman of Portales; four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Orvil Wooley; daughter Virginia Wooley, and grandson Henry (Hank) Veretto.
Mrs. Wooley loved the Lord, and was not shy when it came to sharing the gospel with others. She was a charter member of College Heights Baptist Church where she was a gifted Sunday school and Jr Church teacher for many years, as well as working in the bus ministry and vacation bible school. She is known for being direct and sometimes stern, but she made those she taught feel loved and important. Many adults she taught as young children can still remember the flannel graph lessons and the hand puppets she used when she shared the story of Jesus with them. She loved to cook and create recipes to share, and even at 93 still clipped recipes from magazines.
