Ruby Bell Wooten (Merchant)
1936-2018

Ruby Gram Merchant was born on October 13, 1936 in Farmington, NM. The spitfire matriarch of the family, Ruby was loved and well known by not only her daughter, grandkids and great-grandkids, but also by their extended web of friends and loved ones. Everyone that came in contact with Ruby walked away with a story to tell and a memory they would cherish. The proverbial neighborhood grandma, she had many adopted grandkids that stretched far and wide that she had a hand in influencing as they grew up, all of which still speak fondly of her and her unusual grandma style. Well known for her seamstress skills, Ruby was involved in several organizations and groups and brought smiles to many faces with her unique creations. Not your typical grandmother, Ruby was also involved in the local car club community and was an avid supporter of her grandkids' hobbies and passions. Her love of Patsy Cline and country music, movies and family time will always be remembered with a smile. Ruby passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord at home with her daughter Sally by her side on October 22, 2018. She is survived by her daughter Sally Carson, granddaughters Stormy Melhaff (Troy), Alisha Jaramillo (JJ), Tiffany Gilleland (Adam) and her grandson Michael Rino (Misty), as well as her great-granddaughters September Carson, Whisper Hallman, Nevaeh Jaramillo, Angel Jaramillo and Rhiannon Jaramillo, Justin Patterson and Jacob Patterson. Ruby also included her step-grandkids Jonny Rino, Jamey Rino-Esquibel (Isaac), Jeffrey Rino and their children Jourdyn Rino, Jonny Rino, Jr, Taishja Esquibel, Jovanny Rino, Jherzie Rino, Tayli Esqibel, Jaime Rino, and Maddox Rino among her immediate family. She will be greatly missed by a multitude of family, friends and other loved ones. Ruby was preceded in death by her father Samuel R Merchant and her mother Mary M. Adams Merchant as well as her siblings JD Merchant, Samuel L Merchant, Elizabeth Merchant Sledge and Ruth Merchant Mattics. Services will be held at Light of His Way Church located at 1359 N 1st St in Bloomfield, NM on November 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
Ruby's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W. Arrington, Farmington, NM, (505) 327-5142.
