Sadie M. Yazzie

Sadie M, Yazzie, 87, of Counselor, NM passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 in Espanola, NM. She was born in Counselor, NM on April 10, 1934 to Late Jane Pena Martinez and Late Jose Miguel/Martinez. Born to the Mexican Clan and born for the Yucca Fruit Clan.
Sadie went to school in Ignacio, CO up to third grade. She was self-employed as a weaver, raising sheep and lambs to sell. She enjoyed weaving, traveling and crocheting.
Sadie is preceded in death by her husband Felix Yazzie, daughter Charlotte DineYazhe.
Sadie is survived by her sons, Peter Yazzie, Lewis Yazzie, Wesley Yazzie, Teddy Yazzie, Thomas Yazzie, Wallace Yazzie, daughters, Fannie Yazzie, Rena Yazzie, Jennie Yazzie, grandchildren Erwin Yazzie, Deanna Yazzie, Wayne Yazzie, Shai Yazzie, Tayden Yazzie, Tyler Platero, Lauren Platero, Alyssa Nez, Karen DineYazhe, great-grandchildren, Leandra Nizhoni Litze, Dwight Ironbear Litz, Leandro Leonard Litz, Jr. and Andrew Marquez.
Public visitation will be held Friday, August 20, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Cope Memorial Chapel, Kirtland, NM. Graveside to follow at Counselor Community Cemetery, Counselor, NM with officiate Pastor Tom Gueritto. A reception will be held at Living Spring Baptist Church, Counselor, NM,
Pallbearers, Thomas Yazzie, Wesley Yazzie, Michael Keetso, Erwin Yazzie, Darrell Nez, Ben DineYazhe.
Sadie is in the care of Cope Memorial Chapel, Kirtland.
