Stella L. Cruz

Stella L. Cruz  (Chacon) was born on August 8, 1948 to parents Jose M. Chacon and Frances (Rael) Chacon in Green River, Wyoming. She moved to Farmington with her family. She graduated from Farmington High. Soon after she met her husband Joe G. Valdez, the father of their four wonderful children. She enjoyed sketching, painting and cooking. Her biggest enjoyment was being with her family. She spent the last 25 years with her now husband Jose Cruz. They loved singing and dancing together. She was a wonderful mom and grandma. She will be dearly missed and loved forever.

Stella is survived by her husband Jose Cruz, siblings Frank Chacon, Manuel (Thersa) Chacon, Georgina (Herb) Medina, Frances (Piedad), Lawernce Pino, Joann (Joe) Valdez, Darlene Martinez, Pamela (Ernest) Mosley; her children Matthew (Shelly) Valdez, Christopher (Rachell) Valdez, Rosemary (Joseph) Velasquez, Lindakay (Michael) Willett; 23 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by the father of her children Joe G. Valdez, her parents Jose M Chacon and Frances Chacon, her sister Betty Louise Chacon her brother Johnny(Jessie) Chacon, her niece Jillmarie Martinez, and her nephew Edward Martinez.

A visitation and rosary was held Friday 7/16/2021 from 1:00pm-2:30pm at Cope Memorial Chapel Farmington.

A  funeral mass will be held on Friday July 30, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Parish located at 414 N Allen Ave Farmington, NM at 9:40am. Following the mass, a committal service will take place at Memory Gardens Cemetery at 11:30am.
