Tito A. Gallegos, known affectionately as "Junior," passed away on July 31, 2024, in Farmington, New Mexico, at the age of 75. Born to Tito and Irene Gallegos on May 14, 1949, in Farmington, he lived a life marked by devotion to his family and his faith.
Tito served commendably in the US Army from July 25, 1966, to July 24, 1972, dedicating six years to serving his country with honor and pride. After serving in Vietnam as a Wireman, he received four medals including Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Sharpshooter (Rifle). After his military service, he became a jack of all trades, skillfully working in carpentry, construction, oilfield, and truck driving, which allowed him to provide for his family while indulging in his love for hands-on work.
A devout Catholic, Tito was a pillar in his community, actively involved in Saint Joseph's Catholic Church and Holy Trinity Catholic Church. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, often found praying the rosary and participating in church activities.
Tito was a man of many interests, including fishing, reading, and woodworking. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren, playing cards, telling stories, and simply enjoying their company. His generous and fun-loving nature made him a beloved figure in his family and community.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Gallegos; children, Trey Wicks (Taryn) and Shane Gallegos (Kristina); grandchildren, Desirae, Robbie, Mia, Tiaria (Cassie), Nathan, Ryan, Dakota, and Samantha; great grandchild Willow; and brother, John and numerous in-laws, nephews, nieces. Tito was preceded in death by his son, Mikhy; siblings, Paul, Julia, Agapito, Raymond, Irene, Nieves; and parents, Tito and Irene Gallegos.
Rosary services will be held on Thursday, August 8th at 7:00 pm at Saint Joseph's Church in Aztec, NM. Funeral services will follow on Friday, August 9th at 11:00 am at the same location. Cope Memorial in Farmington, New Mexico, is assisting the family during this time.
Tito's legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and faith will forever be cherished and remembered by those who knew him.
