Darrell John Allen

Darrell grew up in Shiprock. He aspired to work in the pipelining field. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of the family’s livestock. He loved to play golf. Every day he kept himself busy with numerous projects, building, fixing, and creating things for the house or the yard. He enjoyed spending his time at our local casinos playing his luck.

Darrell is preceded in death by his father: Ernest Allen Sr. His grandparents: Eugene Allen Sr, Annie Allen, Mary N. Joe, and great grandfather Shorty Nez.

Darrell is survived by his parents: Darlene Joe and Frank Joe. His brothers: Ernest Allen Jr., Derrick Allen,  Zachariah Joe, Dwayne Joe and his sister: Ernestine (Kyle) Joyner.

He was born to clans Hashtł’ishnii, Kinyaa’áanii, Mud clan, and Towering House Clan.

Pallbearers: Dante Joyner, Garry S. Harvey, Wallace Johnson Jr., Ryneal Lewis Adams, Terry Talk, Derrick Allen, Marvin Allen, and Fernando Foster.

Darrell Allen’s funeral service will take place on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Freddy Hall at the Diné Christian Center. Interment will follow at the Shiprock Cemetery. Then a reception to follow at the Diné Christian Center at 1:00 p.m.
