Obituary of Della Rougemont
Born Adella Roybal in Pecos, NM, she went by Della throughout her life. Della met her husband
Cleofes Rougemont, Jr. as a teen. The couple married in 1953 and made their home in Grants,
NM. They had three sons Bobby, Rick, and James. Later they welcomed their cherished
daughter Stacey. They enjoyed traveling together to California to visit family, as well as, for
pleasure.
Della was a devoted wife and mother. She was the epitome of homemakers. Della enjoyed
sewing and crocheting. Her cooking skills which she passed to her sons were legendary. She
made the most delectable bizcochitos. She baked special shaped cakes for her children and
grandchildren.
Speaking of which, she had twenty grandchildren. Della made each grandchild feel special.
Everyone was welcomed into her home with food and a hug. As her grandchildren grew, Della
was blessed with fifteen great-grandchildren.
Della was a devout Catholic. She attended Mass regularly and had a special devotion to St.
Jude Thaddeus.
Della passed before the dawn hours on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 in the comfort of her home.
She is survived by by her loving family. Sons Bobby, Rick (Jill), and James (Leonor.)
Grandchildren Bobbie Jo, Veronica, Anthony and Billy, Paul, Richard and Vickie (Daniel), James
Jr (Cristal), Alexia, Laurence, Zevastian, Xorin, Jenée, Shania, and Wyatt. Great-grandchildren
Ronnie, Rena, Jacenta, Jackie, Audree, Raelee, Ashlee, Leilani, Anthony, Matthew, Isaiah,
Estrella, Alaya, Nicholas, and Jaxon.
Della rejoined her beloved husband Cleofes, cherished daughter Stacey, much loved daughterin-
law Rena, delighted grandchildren Robert, Courtney, Nicholas, Jacqueline, and Robert.
