Joseph Seth Fischer

Joseph Seth Fischer, age 32 of Farmington, NM passed away un-expectantly on September 16, 2022. Joe was born on May 28, 1990 to Paul and Maryilyn (Bruce) Fischer in Durango, Colorado. Joe is survived by his Wife Marsha, daughter Riley Marie, parents Paul and Maryilyn, two brothers Micheal (Jackie) Fischer, Bob (Bekka) Chenault, numerous nieces/nephews that all called him “Uncle Doe” , as well as many other family and friends who miss him deeply. Joe is preceded in death by both sets of grandparent, paternal Carl and Mildred Fischer, and maternal Lj and Marjorie Bruce.
Joe met the love of his life, his best friend, Marsha (Padilla) and the two were married on Oct. 3rd, 2015 in an outdoor wedding at the San Juan River. Joe was blessed with the birth of his daughter on July 20th, 2021, Riley Marie. Joe had the rare privilege of spending the last 8 months of his life with his daughter as a stay at home dad. In his death Joe leaves behind the best of himself, Riley Marie, for us to cherish, love and remember him daily in her.
Joe lived his whole life in Farmington, graduated from Farmington High in 2008 and attended San Juan College where he received his Associates Degree in Natural Gas Compression. Joe worked for Kinder Morgan for several years. Joe loved to hunt, barbeque, play in the water and played many years of the Magic the Gathering. His love of playing cards came from his time spent with Grandma Bruce after school and continued throughout his life. She called him cutthroat, as he was fiercely competitive, and he almost always won. Joe was a big man with a big enormous heart, a cheesy smile and helping hand for anyone who needed it. Joe loved bug and was (and will be) loved big.
A viewing for Joe will be held Friday September 23rd, 2022 at Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM with a graveside service to follow at the La Plata Cemetery to follow. A reception for Joe will be held following the graveside service at La Plata Valley Baptist Church. Pallbearers include Micheal Fischer, Bob Chenault, Audie Padilla, Ron Rossman, Frank Heidke, and James Cole. Honorary pallbearers include: Dusty Cole, Daniel Garcia, Liam Padilla, Sebastian Padilla, and Jayden Padilla, Kobe Chenault, Kayden Chenault, and Keeran Chenault.
