Juanita Joyce Thompson Age 88
Resident of Bloomfield, New Mexico
Passed away on January 24, 2023 in Farmington, New Mexico Born April 14,1934 in Clinton, Texas to  Eldon and Mildred Jackson

Juanita moved around a lot as a small child, her father was a migrant worker who followed the  seasonal crops. Her parents eventually settled in Hobart, Oklahoma while she was still young. At  the age of 19 she met and then married James Benjamin Thompson. She moved to Durango, Colorado  where they started their family. Juanita worked as a waitress, in the motels as a maid, in the laundry and cleaning rooms as needed.
In 1968 they moved to Dolores, Colorado where soon after Juanita went to work at Southwest Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide, then on the ambulance as a EMT. They raised their six children together in Colorado. Where JB was a logger while Juanita worked at  the hospital and as a custodian cleaning for different businesses to help out. Then in 1979 they  moved to New Mexico where JB went to work for Permian Corporation. They bought their final home together in Bloomfield, New Mexico. When JB could no longer hold down a full time job Juanita went 
to work as a nurse’s aide once again in nursing homes to help out. When JB became overtaken by dementia Juanita committed herself to him full time until he passed away in 2014. Now they are together once again after Juanita’s passing.

Juanita was preceded in death by her Husband James Benjamin Thompson, her son Raymond Lewis Thompson, daughter-in-law Janette Rene Thompson, and (Janette and James L.’s children)Jeremy Lewis Thompson, Juanita Rene Thompson, her son-in-law James Gilliland. Her brother-in-laws Clyde A. Thompson, and Marion Hank Thompson. Her brothers Lewis, Raymond (shorty), Belton, Howard and Steve.

Survived by Pascal Jackson, her younger brother. Children James L. and Ivy Thompson, David  Thompson, Walter and Connie Thompson, Mary Ellen Gilliland, Mildred Horensky and Jamie Shankle. Her in-laws Marley Thompson, Marie Ritter, Margaret Gwin and Mona Thompson.

Grandchildren: Raynell Giron, Joe, Crystal, Travis Gilliland, James Michael Thompson, Donald Moore,  George Hall, Alexandria Hall, Daniel Horensky, and Kristen Thomspon

Great Grandchildren: (Joe’s) Braxton, and Raymond E., (Crystal’s) Colton, Ruth and Daisy Gilliland  (Travis’s) Ariel, Keston and Keara, (James M.’s) Jessie, Mary Ann and Joseph, (George’s) Aden,  Hunter Hall, (Allie’s) Liam, Gavin and Lannon, (Kristen’s) Madison, Abigail, and Ashlyn, (Raynell’s) Emma

Great-Great Grandchildren: (Braxon’s) Ryker, Asher and Harper, (Colton’s) Finnick, (Madison’s) Isabella Dillahunty, (Ariel’s) Sohpia and Brandin. Numerous Nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
