Judy Susan Cathey

Judy Sue Cathey passed away at the age of 70 years old on 11/12/2022 in Farmington, NM. She was born to Fred Edwards and Mary Lou Edwards in Farmington on 7/21/1952.  She grew up on the Navajo Reservation and graduated from Shiprock High School in 1970. After high school she completed an administrative assistant training program from San Juan Community College and spent her career working as an administrative assistant, beginning as an accomplished federal employee, and later working as the vice president and business manager of my dad’s dental office where she ran a tight ship.

Judy was an extraordinarily warm and generous person and radiated kindness and love. She was our family’s core and caretaker. Judy was also an amazing cook and baker specializing in comfort food and holiday goodies. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, spending time with her tiny dogs, walking at Berg Park, and spoiling nieces, nephews, and grandkids.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, George E. Cathey, and her two sons Greg Cathey and George F. Cathey. Judy leaves behind 5 grandsons, Wacey, Judd, Glenn, Zeke, & Tucker Cathey.
