Lavada Lou Eagle passed away on July 17, 2022 at her home in Milan, New Mexico. She was 85 years of age. Lavada was born on March 31, 1937 in Brownfield, Texas.
Ms. Lavada has worked as a waitress for Grants Café, Grandma’s Café, Pat’s Chili Parlor, and spent 24 years with El Cafecito before her retirement. She loved to cook for and spend time with her family and friends. She was loved and will be missed.
Lavada is survived by her daughters; Louise Haddox and her fiancé Lee Anthony Harrison, Karen Aragon and her husband Tony, Diane Chesshir and her husband Dois, Elizabeth Godfrey and her husband Wayne, and her best friend; Angela Baca and her husband Larry. Her grandchildren; Charlie Ray Turnbow, Dakota Mace and her partner Melissa DeHerrera, Casper Mace, Wayland Mace and his wife Josie, Dallas Moore and her husband Clint, DeeAnne Nelson and her husband Brent, and Tiffany Short and her husband Casey. Her siblings; Dorothy Thomas, and Lee Atwood. 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Along with numerous other relatives and friends at also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Olan Ray Eagle on August 18, 2017. Her parents; Clona James Atwood and Eva Lena Cannon Atwood. Two granddaughters; Jackie Turnbow, Latasha Godfrey. Her siblings; CJ Atwood, Erma Marlow, Delbert Atwood, Wanda Peace. And a nephew; Greg Atwood.
On Thursday July 21, 2022 at 1st Baptist Church of Grants, 224 Mountain Road, Grants, NM. A viewing will begin at 9:30 AM. A message of hope will be delivered by Reverend Jerry Talley at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park at 11:30 AM.
Pallbearers include; Dois Chesshir, Wayne Godfrey, Tony Aragon, Wayland Mace, Mike Hawkins, and Josh Baca.
Honorary Pallbearers include; Angela Baca, Larry Baca, Tom Thomas, Dakota Mace, Dallas Moore, DeeAnne Nelson, and Tiffany Short.
