Lester (Alan) Boyd

August 29, 1961 — September 5, 2022

Aztec, New Mexico

Lester Alan Boyd of Aztec NM, age 61 took his final dirt bike ride into heaven on September 5, 2022. Known to most as Alan, but went by “Pops” by those who caused his heart to beat. Alan was born on August 29, 1961, to J.W. and Adeline Boyd of Colorado City, TX. He was a 1978 graduate of Loraine High School. He had a long and successful career as a welder for the pipeline and joined Pipeliners Local Union 798 in 2005. The Pipeline took him all across the country and allowed him to build lifelong friendships. Alan lived life to the fullest. He was a remarkable and intelligent man with a magnetic personality, who was loved dearly by family and friends alike. He was a teacher and a father figure for so many in the pipeline and motocross industry. He loved cracking jokes, and everyone in the room knew it at the sound of his loud and encouraging laugh. He was a man of many talents. He could build and repair anything, and he often helped friends and family with projects. He was a faithful friend, a loving and supportive Pops, and a devoted husband. He loved his family fiercely. His influence on those close to him will not be forgotten. In a world desperately in need of light, Alan’s light shined brightest and those blessed to know him will keep that light burning. May he rest in Peace.
