Lewis Yazzie

Lewis  Yazzie 67 left this earth to work that rig in heaven on Friday, December 16, 2022 at home, surrounded
by his loved ones.
Lewis was born to Eleanor Becenti on March 5, 1955 in Nageezi, New Mexico, where he lived and attended
school at Brethren in Christ Mission School until he was 13.
He moved to Farmington, New Mexico and attended Tibbetts Junior High.
Lewis started his career in the oilfield at the age of 17, and continued to work the entire San Juan Basin and 
Four Corners area for 40 years, until he retired. 
He was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend to so many, our Daddy, our hero. 
Lewis is survived by his wife Leora Denise Yazzie; children Angel and son in law Peter Romero;
Lewis Jerome Yazzie, and daughter in law Alicia; Suzanne, and son in law Petey Romero; Mathew Martinez,
Heather (Maria) Mortensen; Melissa Mortensen, Carolina Mortensen, and Britney Mortensen; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and furbabies 
Smokey and Daisy. 
He is preceded in death by his mom. Eleanor Becenti, and grandson Lewis Yazzie. 
It is not goodbye Daddy, but, we will see you later.

Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 30th at 11am at Journey Church 1901 W Murray Dr Farmington. NM.
