Obituary

Roy Kenneth Smith, 69, of Bloomfield, New Mexico, passed away on July 9, 2022. Roy was born on July 21, 1952 to Floyd & Mary Smith in Durango, Colorado. After Roy graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1970 he immediately enlisted in the Army serving in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged in 1976 and began his career at PNM retiring after 30 years. His favorite hobby was riding his Harley and making the trip out to Sturgis. He also enjoyed spending time at the lake with family, fishing, hunting and enjoying the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd & Mary Smith and is survived by his brothers Russell Smith and Scott (Beth) Smith as well as his nephew Eric (Kathi) Smith and nieces Krista (Brady) Lane and Amanda Slagle and numerous great nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at 10:00 am on Saturday July 16, 2022 at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are Eric Smith, Drew Smith, Daison Shockley, Kyler Munkres and Denton Faver. Honorary Pallbearers are Scott Smith, Russell Smith, Dick Eacret, George Duncan, Nick Baker and Bill Williams.
