Will Ed Harris Paul 77, of Farmington, New Mexico passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2021 .

Will Ed was born on February 23, 1944, to parents Elza Paul and Betty Joy Sharp Paul, in Carlsbad, New Mexico,

Will Ed grew up in Los Alamos, NM and his family had a farm in Tesuque, NM for a few years. He graduated from Los Alamos High School in 1962. He played football and was active in other sports.  He also attended Eastern NM University and NM State University.  After serving in the Army in Viet Nam from 1965 -1967, he returned to Las Cruces, NM, where he went to work for the Zia Company, the maintenance, operations and support contractor for NASA at the White Sands Test Facility. He was proud be a part of the Apollo Lunar Program where he worked as a Safety and Engineering Aid. After the last moon landing when the Apollo Site closed in 1969, he transferred to work with the Zia Company in Los Alamos, NM.  In the years to follow, he went to work for several wholesale electrical businesses in Santa Fe, Las Cruces and Farmington, NM.   He also worked for several oil and gas drilling companies in San Juan County. For a time, he worked as a groundskeeper at the Pinon Hill Golf Course,  He used his landscaping skills to maintain and beautify his own property. He always had a project going.

Will Ed was a hardworking man who enjoyed people.  He loved swapping stories, and he usually had a big smile on his face. He was a generous, kind, gentle friend and neighbor and was a mentor to several younger men. He loved helping other people in any way he could. He loved babies, children, and older ladies and gentlemen. He was especially kind and loving to his mother-in-law, Josephine Jaquez and "Auntie", Marguerite Jaquez.   He truly had a cheerful, “servant’s heart”.

He met his wife, Sylvia Joy Jaquez, while she was attending NMSU and he was working at the Apollo Site in 1968. They were neighbors living in the same apartment building.  They were married July 3, 1969 at her parents' home in Aztec, NM.  He was a most loving, caring husband and father, who didn’t hold  back on expressing his love and appreciation in words and deeds, each and every day.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia, his son, Bryan Paul and his wife Christa, his siblings, JJ Maier, Maryanne Zadfar, Betty Paul, Skeeter Paul and Eric Paul.  He also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends who were like family.

His ashes will be interred at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe on August 5, 2021 at 3:00pm with military honors.
